Why we buy diabetic test strips

My grandma, Blanche, grew up during the depression.  As a child growing up in a much better economy, I thought it a little silly how she saved everything and threw nothing away.  She said she would not be able to sleep well if she knew something in her trash could be reused or help someone else.

Now, as an adult, I realize exactly where Blanche was coming from.  It is a shame if we dispose of something that can be used by another person.  Especially if it is something that can be used to help them maintain or improve their health.

We buy extra diabetic testing strips–strips that could end up in the trash–and redistribute them to folks who cannot afford to pay the high retail prices.  This is a business that would make Blanche proud!
